BKK 2013 Day 3

Day 3 is Chatuchak day as it was on a Saturday. We arranged to meet at 930am with neighbor and girlfriend. Then we took the free tuktuk service out to Ploenchit BTS (the nearest BTS station from our hotel). On our way to the BTS, we walked past Dean & Deluca and decided to have our breakfast there. The latte was a tad too bitter for me but the chocolate croissant was good especially when it was hot from the oven.

We took the BTS to Mo Chit BTS Station (where Chatuchak is) and the road side stalls were already set up waiting for their first customers. It was a really hot day but I suppose a dry hot day is better than wet humid weather at Chatuchak! We walked for an hour or so trying to look for the nice home deco section but did not have much luck. After about 4 hours under the hot sun, I did managed to buy 2 tops from a cute little stall, 3 similar pairs of the black working pants and a pair of sandals while Al bought a tee shirt and neighbor bought a pair of pants. And of cos nothing for the girlfriend.

We decided to leave Chatuchak as it was too hot for us to continue and took the MRT instead. The human jam towards the BTS was too much for us to handle. We alight at Sukhumvit station and headed to Noodern for lunch. But after about 20 minutes walk, we arrived at Noodern just to realise that it was closed!! There were 2 persons inside the restaurant but they waved their hands at us signalling that the place was closed. We gave up trying to understand them, took a cab to Nana BTS and went to our favorite thai food at a small eatery within a local supermarket.

Then back to the hotel to rest our tired feet. Both of us decided to go for a quick massage near our hotel before meeting the neighbour and girlfriend for a late supper at a road side stall. The initial plan was to visit a night market called Rot Fai Market but too bad the bones in our body are telling us NO. So after supper, we went back hotel for a good night sleep.

this is my second bowl. the first one was dried noodle with pork lard and char siew which is super yummy. Each bowl costs less than S$2. the neighbour also ordered half a chicken for us to share which I find is a bit tasteless. it helped a little with their self made chilli sauce. I am too used to the singapore kind of chicken.

End of Day 3.
