After 6 days of good food in Bangkok, it’s time to start cooking again. So I bought some ingredients (prawns, broccoli and a bottle of chye poh) for dinner the very next day I got home.
First dish is broccoli with prawns and lots of garlic (but still not enough for Al). I remembered my mama taught me how to wash the prawns i.e. to cut the middle part of the prawn (back and front) to remove black strips and mil told me to clean the prawns with salt to remove any foul smell.
The second dish is simple. Chop the chye poh into small cubes and beat up three eggs. Add some fish sauce to the eggs and fried the eggs with the chye poh. I don’t quite like the taste as the chye poh is too sweet for my liking. I should have wash the chye poh first before mixing it with the eggs. But Al seems to prefer this dish over the broccoli which he thought was a bit bland.
And the soup is my favorite ABC soup which I forgot to take a photo.
I always have a sense of accomplishment eating my own cooked food and especially so if Al finished them up even though they are not up to his standard. At least I am improving every single time.
