Review of Freeman Facial Clay Mask (Avocado & Oatmeal)

While waiting for my new pot of Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore cleansing mask from Germs, I bought a tube of Freeman facial clay mask from our local drugstore “Guardian” for $9.90 for 150ml. It is made with natural, botanical ingredients i.e. Water (Aqua), Kaolin, Bentonite, Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Gylcol, Magnesium Aluminium Silivate, Colloidal Oatmeal, Tocopherol, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Carprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, Montimorillonite, Disodium Edta, Sodium Plyacrylate, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Methychloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Fragrance (Parfum), Yellow 5.  What a mouthful right?

I have been using it for the past 3 weeks and i find the results are somewhat similar to that of Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore cleansing mask.  They are both easy to use: Apply mask to face and neck.  Let it dry and rinse with warm water. However, the freeman mask seems to dry much faster than Kiehl’s and the skin tightens as it dries.  The skin sure feels much much tighter.  But after you slab your skin with some moisturiser, all is good.  I would not recommend using this for more than twice a week cos it may be a bit drying.   The skin does feel cleaner and the pores smaller.   One thing that really bothers me is the scent.  It has a really strong smell which I don’t really like.  Other than that, I think it works just as well as Kiehl’s. I tried it on Al and his face really glows and feels smoother after the first application.  So conclusion:  I will re-purchase this.
